EXIM Alliance Program Empowers SME'S to Compete Globally
September 26, 2017 Tia Fulton, External Affairs Specialist, Public Affairs

In April 2017, the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) announced the launch of the Alliance Program, an affiliation of organizations that support the Bank’s mission of facilitating U.S.-based jobs through the export of U.S. originated goods and services. The goal of the program is to connect with organizations’ export-ready, member companies to provide them with the tools needed to compete in the global marketplace.

Selling to international customers carries commercial and political risks, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises. EXIM provides products for small and medium-sized enterprises to grow revenues and increase profitability while mitigating the risk of nonpayment by foreign buyers. The Alliance Program itself is a value-added channel that empowers U.S. companies to maximize the success of their export strategy through (no cost) services from EXIM including:

Education and Training

  • Digital Content
  • Peer-to-Peer Communication

Outreach

  • Trade Finance Focused Webinars
  • Speaking Engagements

Export Assistance

  • Nationwide Regional Director Support
  • One-to-one Export Counseling

Through the Alliance Program, EXIM is broadening its reach to the business community. Current Alliance Program participants include, but are not limited to:

  • National and Regional Trade Associations
  • Chambers of Commerce
  • Think Tanks

“When we are growing our economy we can’t just think locally – we need to explore opportunities to do business globally, “says Chris Quinn, VP of Industry & Government Affairs for the JAX Chamber in Florida. “Our Chamber joined the EXIM Bank Alliance to offer one more avenue for our members to learn about exporting and prepare to thrive in the global marketplace. This is a valuable partnership for our members.”

Doug Bruhnke, CEO/founder of the Global Chamber, also recognizes the importance of this collaboration. “Global Chamber has been collaborating with EXIM Bank for years and this official partnering program is confirmation of the value we’re creating together and will give our members more access to resources that help them grow globally.”

EXIM invites organizations that support our mission and share common goals with the Bank to participate in the program.  Learn more about becoming an Alliance Program affiliate or contact Tia Fulton at alliance@exim.gov.
