When it was founded in 2008, KOVAL Distillery made headlines for being the first distillery to open in Chicago since the 1800s. Using a grain-to-bottle approach, KOVAL proudly offers local patrons organic spirits and liqueurs, including a variety of gins, whiskeys, and more.
Despite domestic success, KOVAL saw the potential for growth in international markets. Yet, it hesitated to take the leap with new distributors; global sales were slow, and mainly focused in Germany and Austria.
With EXIM's help, KOVAL now has the security to diversify. Of its 24 employees, 5 staff members are now dedicated to its export operations. KOVAL's spirits can now be purchased in 55 countries and counting.
