In October, the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) joins with other government partners to highlight Manufacturing Month, celebrating the key role manufacturing plays in the U.S. economy.
Manufacturing contributes $2.65 trillion to the nation’s economy, provides nearly 13 million jobs, and accounts for 10.3 percent of the nation’s GDP, according to the International Trade Administration. In 2022, U.S. exports of manufactured goods totaled nearly $1.6 trillion, representing 77 percent of all U.S. merchandise exports. About 96 percent of manufacturers that export are small and medium-sized businesses.

“American workers and the unions who fight for them represent the best of our country. They help power our economy and strengthen our middle class. On National Manufacturing Day, we celebrate the ingenuity, grit, drive, and determination of the American worker.
