Accurate DUNS information is critical to your business

Is Your Data Clean?  Keeping your D-U-N-S information updated is critical for your business.

The previous blog spoke to the need for establishing a credit file by registering a D-U-N-S with Dun & Bradstreet (D&B).

To briefly recap, a D&B D-U-N-S Number is a unique 9-digit identifier that is used to establish a credit file for your company that can be accessed by lenders, insurance brokers and potential business partners to assess the stability, credit history and credit worthiness of your company.

Now that your company has a D-U-N-S Number, it is important that you verify the information is accurate and up-to-date.  I recently saw a D&B report where the company name was misspelled and the wrong address was listed.  Can you hear the underwriters groan?

Maintaining correct information is your responsibility and will streamline the approval process for loans, insurance policies and lines of credit from business partners.  On the flip side, inaccurate and old information may slow the process or lead to the application being rejected.

Check out your company’s information and make sure your file is clean!  Update Your D-U-N-S Information Now.
